Description:
Wind turbines are facing increasing opposition from residents who complain of noise and health problems as a result of living near the electricity-generating towers. On Tuesday, North Middlesex demanded the government in Ontario, Canada, halt wind farm construction until Health Canada completes a study examining the link between wind turbines and health. That study is slated to be completed in 2014. Residents living near wind turbines worry about the impact low-frequency noise may have on their health. They have complained of headaches, earaches and high blood pressure. Another common complaint is shadow flicker.
